+ Roland Hemond
The Chairman of Hannibal Baseball, Roland Hemond is in his 58th year working in professional baseball.  The only three-time recipient of Major League Baseball Executive of the Year honors, Hemond is Advisor to the President of the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Hemond started his front office career with the Boston/Milwaukee Braves in 1951.  He moved on to the expansion Los Angeles Angels in 1961 as Farm/Scouting Director.  He was hired as the Director of Player Personnel/General Manager of the Chicago White Sox in 1970, a post he held until 1985, winning the Executive of the Year Award in 1972 and 1983.  After two years in the Commissioner's Office, Hemond became the General Manager of the Baltimore Orioles (1988-95), again being named Executive of the Year in 1989.  His current stint with the Diamondbacks is his second with the club.  Hemond was also the Senior Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations from 1995-2000.

Hemond's contributions extend beyond the clubs for which he has worked.  He is considered the "architect" of the Arizona Fall League; helped start the Professional Baseball Scouts Foundation, which aids scouts in financial need; initiated and promotes an on-line education program for professional baseball players; and is the only non-uniformed recipient of the Branch Rickey Award, which is given for "unselfish contributions to one's community."

This long and successful career has garnered three World Series Championship rings for Hemond.
